PERSAINGAN film 1917 dan Joker akan mencapai puncaknya dalam Piala Oscar 2020, 9 Februari nanti. Pihak The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) selaku penyelenggara ajang Academy Awards ke-92 telah mengumumkan nominasi lengkapnya pada Senin (13/1) malam waktu Indonesia lalu.
Selain 1917 dan Joker yang paling banyak meraih nominasi, sama-sama 10 kategori, film asal Korea Selatan, Parasite juga masuk dalam hitungan. Selain masuk kategori nominasi Film Terbaik, juga berpeluang di beberapa kategori lainnya, yaitu Best International Feature Film, Best Director, dan Best Original Screenplay.
